Brisbane Studio
MotzDESIGNS is a Brisbane-based interior design studio specialising in residential new builds and renovations.
The studio focuses on cohesive, material-led design – where materials, finishes, lighting, and joinery are thoughtfully integrated to achieve spaces that feel calm, timeless, and deeply connected to the way each client lives.

Design Philosophy / Approach
Every project is approached holistically, with careful consideration given to proportion, texture, functionality, and continuity throughout the home.
Rather than treating selections as isolated decisions, materials and interior elements are developed together to create a cohesive and resolved overall design outcome.
The result is an interior that feels layered, balanced, and enduring over time.
Material & Detail Focus
A strong understanding of renovations, construction collaboration, and fabrication processes informs the studio’s design approach. Working closely alongside specialist trades and within a workshop environment has developed a practical understanding of how custom interior elements are detailed, constructed, and executed on-site.
This allows design intent to be carefully considered from both an aesthetic and practical perspective.

At MotzDESIGNS, the design process may involve:
- Thoughtful spatial planning and interior flow
- Cohesive integration of materials and finishes
- Kitchen, bathroom, and joinery design
- Lighting placement and layering
- Material and surface selection
- Interior detailing and refinement
- Collaboration with builders, trades, and suppliers
- Consideration of functionality and long-term liveability
- Creating continuity throughout the entire home.
The goal is never simply to make a space look beautiful, but to create a home that feels balanced, connected, and thoughtfully resolved – both aesthetically and practically.
A considered design approach early in the process can also help reduce costly changes later, bringing greater clarity and confidence throughout a renovation or new build journey.
A Home Connected Through Material Continuity
This project focused on creating cohesion through the careful integration of timber, flooring, lighting, and interior detailing throughout the home.
A custom timber ceiling, refined material palette, and seamlessly integrated staircase were designed to work together as one connected interior language, allowing the timber ceiling to remain visually continuous across both levels.
