This project involved transforming a newly built Metricon home into a more bespoke and layered interior, thoughtfully tailored to reflect our clients’ vision of creating mood, warmth and individuality throughout the space. Engaged midway through the build, we were brought in to elevate the standard selections and introduce a more curated, atmospheric quality to the home.
Key Design Focus
A key focus throughout was scale and proportion, ensuring each interior gesture felt balanced within the context of a large home, with careful attention to detail so the interiors enhanced rather than overwhelmed the architecture.
A rich layering of texture was central to the concept, including the use of Arte wallcoverings and a considered mix of tactile finishes throughout. To reinforce the moody, grounded atmosphere, we introduced dark timber-toned furniture, adding depth and contrast while maintaining warmth and cohesion across the scheme.
A further bespoke layer was introduced through a curated artwork commission for the laundry, inspired by the client’s French bulldog. The three-piece series references her earlier years in playful domestic moments, bringing a sense of personality, storytelling and quiet charm into an otherwise functional space.
Material Pallette selection
Our scope include providing design direction on cabinetry detailing and finishes, alongside the curation of a considered interior scheme incorporating wallcoverings, custom furnishings, window treatments, furniture, lighting, artwork and styling. Each layer was carefully selected to build depth and cohesion, resulting in a home that feels refined, personal and rich in atmosphere.
